So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. At that time Libnah also revolted from his rule, because he had forsaken the Lord, the God of his fathers. (II Chronicles 21:10 ESV)
The Cause of Revolution
Revolution is not caused by injustice. Revolution is not caused by class differences. Revolution is not caused by racial conflict. Revolution is not caused by border disputes. Revolution is not caused by tyranny. Revolution is not caused by taxation without representation.
All of those things might indeed be involved in human revolution.
But revolution is caused by someone forsaking the Lord.
Because forsaking the Lord leads to injustice. Forsaking the Lord leads to class differences. Forsaking the Lord leads to racial conflict. Forsaking the Lord leads to border disputes. Forsaking the Lord leads to tyranny. Forsaking the Lord leads to all manner of unfairness, impatience, hunger for power, unjust government practices, and troubles.
Therefore the solution is to return to the Lord, when we have forsaken Him.
We literally and simply need more Jesus in our everyday lives, even politically.
