God's Goodness and Touch

God’s Goodness --- Touching

And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well. (Mark 6:56 ESV)

Physically touching Jesus was a sure way to experience God’s goodness.  Often in the form of healing.

Healing is a pretty good thing!

I wonder if this is part of what Paul had in mind when he instructed us to ‘greet each other with a holy kiss.’ (Romans 16:16) Socially, that would probably not go over well, today.  But a handshake can be an encouraging thing… a way to bring goodness into the moment.  A friendly simple hug can do the same thing.  Maybe even a high-five or a fist-bump.

God created us as Physical Beings… and touch is a way to communicate something good.
