When looking for Jesus in the book of Joshua, one does not have to dig deeply.
The name Joshua is a Hebrew form of the name “Jesus”. So there He is… from the beginning to the end of the book.
That does not mean that everything Joshua did was Christlike.
But we CAN learn one of Christ’s roles in our lives from Joshua.
Joshua commanded.
Joshua led.
Joshua planned.
Joshua carried out Joshua’s plans.
And Joshua won.
Joshua reminds us that Jesus commands, not us.
Joshua reminds us that Jesus leads, not us.
Joshua reminds us that Jesus plans, not us.
Joshua reminds us that Jesus carries out His plans, not us.
And Jesus won. For us!
