Angels

"Rejoice, O heavens, with Him, and let all the angels of God worship Him" (Deuteronomy 32:43 Septuagint)

Angels

Christmas is coming soon, and we will be astonished (if we dare) by the ANGELS appearing above the shepherds, filling the air with heavenly music, because of Emmanuel.  Because of the Messiah born in Bethlehem.  Because wholly God incarnated with wholly human.

Of course the Angels, who knew what was happening more than the shepherds, and even more than Mary, worshipped.  I imagine they could not help themselves.

And Moses foretold it.  Centuries before, as Moses’ life ended, Moses wrote of that Angelic Announcement.  The amazing angels, beyond human understanding, but noticeable in power and wonder, would worship the Messiah!

The angels, who worked as God’s messengers and sometimes God’s hands on earth know that Someone is so far above them, that they worship Him.

Angels always worship God.  And when the time was fulfilled for the Messiah to come, the angels would worship Him, too.

How could they not?  And of course they did. Above those shepherds in their field.

Those amazing angels, almost indescribably beautiful and powerful, told the shepherds… Look over THERE!  Do not be amazed at US.  It is the Messiah!

We can not be like the angels in beauty or power.  But we can, like them, like every book of the Bible, direct people to Jesus… the Messiah…

Emmanuel.
