Law
Through the Law that God spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, God’s people know what God requires of His people.
If that were all that the Law of God was, it would be a grand thing. Uncomfortable, challenging, and impossible to keep, but because the Law reveals to us God’s character, His will, and His attributes, it is amazing and glorious.
But the best thing about the Law, the main thing about the Law, the grandest thing about the Law, is that the Law is about Jesus.
The Law is the epitome and center of God’s Word…. and Jesus is the Word.
The Law describes a perfect relationship with God… and Jesus is God.
The Law was necessary for humans to know God… and in Jesus, Christians know God.
The Law is the way to God… and Jesus is the Way.
The Law is a barrier between humans and God… and Jesus is the gate.
The Law must be completely kept… and Jesus kept it, keeps it, and will keep it on our behalf.
The Law forces us to understand our Sin and sins… and Jesus is the remedy.
The Law, when broken, causes Death… and Jesus is Life.
