When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (II Kings 6:125-17 ESV)
Better Eyes
Elisha’s servant probably had normal eyes. He could see horses and chariots. And that was frightening.
But he needed better eyes.
And so God opened his eyes, and let that servant really see reality.
God, and God’s power, and God’s angels, and God’s Spirit, are actually more real than the things we THINK are more real.
Nothing is more real than God. Don’t be fooled into thinking that our eyes, or cameras, or sensors, or artists see what REALLY is.
Believe what the better eyes of the servant saw. God is protecting His people. God is providing for His people. God is bringing His Kingdom here on earth now.
Seek His better eyes.
