In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1 ESV)
Creator
The first verse in the Bible is pretty straightforward. GOD created everything. When we read those words, though, somehow we narrow that statement down to say, “God the FATHER created all things.”
But the whole Trinity was involved in creation. The Father orchestrated the event. The Holy Spirit was hovering like a mother bird, lovingly present. And the Second Person of the Trinity was in it up to His elbows, too.
Consider these New Testament verses:
All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3 ESV).
For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16 ESV).
…but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed the heir of all things, through whom also He created the world (Hebrews 1:2 ESV).
How appropriate, then, that the One who created the world, also was so instrumental in saving it!
